Ordinary people start with pilot project.s

Let’s say you have an innovative idea that you think is solid and interesting. You present it to your boss, but most likely, he isn’t going to say, “You’re a genius!” or “Wow! How did I not think of that before?” Now, why don’t you get the response you want? Maybe your boss is distracted, or maybe you didn’t explain yourself well enough. Maybe it’s unreasonable to expect your ideas to resonate right away with the right people even with the most extraordinary people.

Did JK Rowling’s manuscript get accepted right away? Hardly. She had to send it to 12 different publishers. Was Dr. Dre’s music celebrated right away? Hardly. He shopped it around from one NYC record store to another until he started his successful collaboration with Jimmy Lovine, who understood the greatness of Dre’s music. hashtag#pilot projects hashtag#passion

Even if you have a great idea, you can’t expect to say it over and over and expect people to say "I do".

You can also launch your idea as a pilot project with a shoestring budget, relatively little risk, and the indispensable support of some like-minded friends or colleagues.

A friend of mine worked for a growing tech company with an office at the Tel Aviv port back. Their business occupied just about the only office in the complex. They liked it there and were growing quickly and needed more space. There were no office buildings around, just municipal hangars. One day, there was a posted opportunity to bid on another space in the same development, and she suggested they go for it.

On the surface, the idea didn’t make sense. It was a tech company, and it was just a big, empty hangar, they had no experience with such bids. She suggested they try it as a pilot project for a year. It was 20 meters from the beach!

These port spaces had so much potential and no other tech company had anything like it. Eventually, this company became a core tenant, leasing 20,000 square meters as the port grew into a flourishing ecosystem with shops and small businesses. But it started out as a pilot..

Go for the ‘just doing a pilot project’ trick — what’s the worst that can happen?
